Outro dia navegando pela Internet me deparei com esse vídeo, que me fez parar para pensar: para onde é que este mundo digital esta nos levando? Num mundo globalizado, onde quase todos temos acesso a Internet e suas redes sociais, as palavras livro e leitura parecem ter sumido do nosso vocabulário. Você constatar que o brasileiro lê apenas 1,3 livros por ano se equivale ao mesmo que você constatar que um analfabeto pode entrar para a faculdade. A questão central é: O que esta acontecendo com o nosso senso de credibilidade? Qual seria a credibilidade de alguém que foi alfabetizado baseado na leitura, esquecer anos depois como se escrevem as palavras? Tudo parece ter se transformado em um amontoado de palavras que não precisam fazer sentido quando combinadas.

Se rememorarmos o passado por algum momento veremos que muitos de nos, independente de credo, cor, ou idade passamos por um processo de alfabetização. Para isso tivemos que ler livros, paginas e paginas a fio, seja para alguma aula de português ou literatura, ou para uma complexa aula de física. Mesmo que atraves números ou cálculos complicados, também ali, nos livros, aprendemos como concatenar ideias e conceitos que um dia foram complicados para nós. Nos livros de português e literatura aprendemos a origem das palavras, os sons que produzem quando juntas, ate nos imergir em estórias de contos de fada maravilhosas, onde também aprendemos a escrever, a entender como as palavras se formam.

No mundo atual, com o avanço tecnológico passamos a ter acesso a algo que em gerações não tão antigas era inatingível. A Internet a principio seria apenas mais um recurso para pesquisas escolares ou ganhar algum “conhecimento”. O que vemos hoje em dia é que ao invés de brincar de boneca, jogar bola ou soltar pipa, os adolescentes e jovens estão cada vez mais cedo imergidos nesse mundo da Internet, onde tudo é possível, ate escrever errado. É comum vermos em redes sociais pessoas não só abreviando palavras, mas também escrevendo completamente errado. O que de uma certa forma acaba se refletindo em provas na escola e mas drasticamente nas futuras provas de vestibular, levando um analfabeto a faculdade.

Numa sociedade cada vez mais conectada é preciso pensar nos livros que “aprendemos” a esquecer cada vez mais cedo. Ao invés de estudar para um simulado ou prova, se torna cada vez mais comum mães flagrarem seus filhos no Facebook ou Twitter para uma consulta breve a enciclopédia do erro gramatical, onde escrever sem um s ou sem uma vogal parece não causar muito impacto. Se isso não causa impacto, certamente causara um prejuízo enorme quando apos milagrosamente o sujeito entra na faculdade descobrir que sua maravilhosa redação não passa de palavras sem acento ou coesão, sem juízo ou sentido. Pior ainda é não conseguir emprego no futuro por não saber escrever corretamente, ou simplesmente por não ler a informação necessária para a vaga.

Por ter sido sempre alguém que aprecia a leitura ainda gosto de ler um bom livro e sei que assim como eu ainda pode existir alguém que esta apenas preguiçoso demais para virara a pagina e prefere apenas clicar curtir no Facebook. Ao invés disso, escolha um assunto de seu interesse, sem ter mais que estar atrelado a algum livro chato de literatura antiga, e procure um livro que ache digno de ler. Leia a sinopse dele, o prefacio, se identifique com o titulo, com a capa, com possíveis gravuras, interaja com seu livro, com as palavras, com os significados. Folhei o livro inteiro, desperte seu interesse, acorde sua paixão, dai então comece pela primeira pagina, descobrindo então que não dói, não é tão difícil assim, você apenas precisa adquirir novamente a pratica da leitura. Da mesma forma que você aprendeu a digitar no teclado de seu computador, curtir ou cutucar um amigo no Facebook ou Tuitar aquela/e gata ou gato da escola ou faculdade, você pode reaprender a ler. Só assim, o processo de entendimento de sons, palavras e seus significado pode começar novamente, e o futuro do Brasil pode com credibilidade lhe dar um lugar na faculdade ou diploma por que você sabe soletrar e escrever a palavra educação.

'In Time' Review

Hello everyone, Here is my review for the movie 'In time', which I recently saw. Hope you like it and leave your comment in the end.


 

When I saw this trailer my first thought was ‘this is very unlikely to happen’ for me it seemed like a science fiction film with bits of action in it. Although I do not like the science fiction genre I went to see it this weekend and simply fell in love with it. This is a very clever plot; the movie simply uses the old say ‘time is money’ in a highly creative manner.  Instead of something ‘unlikely to happen’ it shifted in my mind to something that ‘ is happening’ and immediately moved me to the idea that it can indeed come true in a near future if we do not change the way we see and do things.

The movie sets us in an odd environment where people do not have wallets, they all have 25 years old, working not only to make a live but also to survive some more years. Everything is paid with time instead of cash, and there are timekeepers who mould people into a certain time frame. This is totally true if we translate that to our current capitalist society, where everything is money, it makes the world move and the time pass, in a sense that money controls time and lives. On the contrary the film swaps this concept around and say that actually time controls money and the way we live.

In a similar way we see in the beginning of the film a scene that takes us back to the well-known expression ‘Don’t waste my time’. This expression provides the pace for the whole action of the film. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried brilliantly make us believe in the concept of time as a currency of life, offering the right mood, causing a real affect. Spectators are constantly invited to put themselves in the action and make a parallel to their lives, to the actual world. And in doing so, it is noticeable how true it is considering the way society has been driven. It becomes then crucial to think about capital as a thing necessary but not vital.

On the other hand the movie turns this proposition upside down, once capital then becomes vital, becomes a mean of surviving. For me what keeps the suspense and at the same time action of the film is the fact that it is constantly playing with the audience, playing with the concept of time is money. The confusion between real and unreal, not only make us awake throughout the movie but also make us question whether it is just a piece of fiction or it can come true. That is what I think makes ‘In time’ an excellent film, with a thrilling sound track and wonderful actors and consequently some special effects. The final message is clear, throwing back to us the question: Do we really use our time effectively or we just waste them? Or in other words do we make the most of our time or we let someone else control it for us?

Cidades Digitais

Ola gente,

Depois de algum tempo sem publicar nada, gostaria de mostrar e discutiir aqui um conceito bem interessante. Veja o video ai a baixo, leia o meu comentario e depois faca o seu. Nao e possivel que nao tenha nada a dizer sobre isso.

Passeando pela internet outro dia me deparei com este conceito ai do vídeo, algo que muito me interessou. A ideia das cidades digitais exposta no vídeo de forma clara e objetiva, seria para mim um ponto de partida para a sociedade do futuro. Como cidadãos deveríamos verdadeiramente pensar em como cada um de nos poderia melhorar o pais e o mundo em que vivemos hoje. A verdade é que num mundo cada vez mais agitado e competitivo, as vezes nos preocupamos mais com os leões de cada dia, que deixamos de lado o individuo que mora ao lado: o seu irmão ou irmã, o seu primo ou prima, o seu vizinho ou vizinha, o seu colega ou amigo.

Numa economia globalizada cada vez mais voltada para os negócios, mercado de valores e sobrevivência, tendemos a esquecer a vivencia e deixamos de lado noções e valores importantes como a cidadania. A preocupação com o próximo, seja ele um familiar ou não, parece ser muito distante do nosso quotidiano da sobrevivência. Mas o que não podemos esquecer é que ha sempre alguém precisando ao nosso lado, não somente de um medico como o caso apresentado no vídeo, mas também de um ombro amigo e uma palavra de atenção.

O conceito das cidades digitais não só nos relembra do significado da palavra cidadania e solidariedade, mas também nos mostra como podemos coloca-lo em pratica no nosso dia a dia com um vizinho ou familiar. E acredito que neste ponto a tecnologia da informação discutida em postagens anteriores ajuda muito neste processo. A ideia que venho expondo aqui ha algum tempo sobre conectividade, inovação e reinvenção é exemplificada no conceito cidades digitais. Implantado ha pouco mais de 4 anos em pequenas cidades de São Paulo o projeto parece realmente ser coisa do futuro. Imaginar o fato de uma população inteira se conectar e se ajudar por meio de sinais de satélite parece inacreditável e ao mesmo tempo animador pelo fato de saber que isto é possível.

O mais interessante é perceber o processo de reinvenção de um principio básico das telecomunicações, executado no nosso dia a dia quando falamos ao celular ou nos conectamos a internet. Este simples conceito aliado ao conhecimento e a alta tecnologia disponível atualmente, permitiram que profissionais da área conseguissem desenvolver um protótipo de um futuro ideal. Algo que pode perfeitamente ser incorporado em nossas mentes e talvez nos levar a algum lugar muito além de nossas habilidades digitais. Esta simples ideia, pode nos levar a um mundo de possibilidades e aventuras quotidianas, que aliadas a cabeças ativas e não dormentes, pode sim ser cada vez melhor.

Não estou aqui dizendo que deveríamos criar cidades digitais e mudar o mundo, pois essa seria uma versão um pouco infantil demais para um assunto de gente grande. O que acredito e quero dizer é que podemos começar isso no dia a dia, ajudando um deficiente visual a atravessar a rua, ajudando um cadeirante a subir no ônibus, oferecer ajuda a quem precisa, acolher o sem teto no seu conforto de amor, bondade, seriedade, sinceridade, gratidão e o mais importante: cidadania. Sinto que precisamos acreditar no próximo, ajudar o próximo, para podermos construir cidades digitais que se conectam não só por sinais aéreos mas principalmente por uma corrente humana de solidariedade e respeito.

Technology in the service of information

As a recap and integration of my last two posts, I would like to write and think based on images today, those above this text. For some time we already know the importance of technology in our lives, accompanying us wherever we go. It seems to me that nowadays there is an increasing technological fever, where people cannot live without their mobile phones or the Internet. The world seems to be spinning around technologies, disregarding if it is a recent one or the previous one. What can be proven is the fact that the world is integrated and connected around some form of technology. However I should ask if it is really the information technology era or are we influenced by a world wave seeking for technological improvement?

Some scholars and technology savvy, argue that yes, technology is in favour of information. When Steve Jobs invented the computer that was going to revolutionize the world today, the Macintosh, in a small, dirty and perhaps smelly garage, he was then creating an easy and quick way to acquire and practice knowledge. An example of how these ‘machines’ can help in the practice of knowledge is the edition tool present in a Mac Pc or laptop. Not to mention that those edition tools have been increasingly developing for the better. This tool allows people to edit videos recorded previously, in an innovative, creative and fun approach.

The professionals of the digital era we are living in thank to all of those technological advances. Only because of a Macintosh that media and communication professionals can create, innovate, renovate and reinvent in a way to match client’s requirements and enter the fierce market competition. In the same way, Steve Jobs and apple created the iPhone, allowing interpersonal communication in a creative manner. With this portable technology on hands, we are able to not only connect to the Internet, but also acquire information and knowledge by accessing journals, newspapers and another such applications. Through iPhone it is also possible to learn languages or strange terms via encyclopaedias, dictionaries and other digital applications.

On the other hand, some people might argue that our future could be nothing more than a competition for who has the best in terms of technology. A clear example of this could be the new iPhone 4S, which no longer than two weeks of it’s launch, already causing long waiting lists around stores to purchase the product. Would this be a sign that we might be going to far and losing ourselves in the middle of interactivity? This could be true, but I believe that this is a myth created by our digital society connected mind.

It is ok to admit that we can see technology as a way of distraction and have fun, when we can download games application to our iPhones or smartphones, as the same as download songs to our virtual playlist. However, I believe that this is only a matter or entertainment, not a way of alienation from the world surrounding because of technology. Yet, we should consider that certain people misuse this diverse and integrated technology, although it is only a minority of people.

The truth is that we should take into account that all of us like to be connected and tuned with the global digital technology. The social media mentioned in my previous post is only one more example of the usage of that technology we have in our homes or mobile phones. We should not see it in a negative way, we should seek to innovate ourselves, and connect with the latest information technology and digital integration available. If well used, we can take advantage of what we have on hands. We must admit that the time has changed, the world today sweat software’s and hardware’s. It is not that our brains are turned into a family board or Computer HD., but we should keep ourselves updated and developed. The time is different; we have to follow the flow of the world, as I said in the text about innovation.

In conclusion, I should really emphasize the idea that we live in an information and digital technology era. We cannot be hypercritics and keep living in the past of the black and white TV and the damaged radio that used to occupy so much space in the side table. We have to seek knowledge applied to technology and information. We should do like the first image from the top to the bottom, connect our mental cables into the world socket or network of renovated information, to be able to reinvent, recreate, and be intelligent to think in how to improve the shattered universe currently seeking for wars.

Tecnologia a servico da informacao

Ola a todos, aqui esta mais uma postagem interessantisima para voces, espero que gostem.

Como uma forma de recapitulação e integração das minhas duas ultimas postagens, gostaria de escrever e pensar hoje baseado em imagens, estas ai a cima.

Já faz algum tempo que sabemos da importância da tecnologia em nossas vidas, nos acompanhando por onde quer que formos. Parece-me que hoje em dia há uma febre tecnológica muito grande, as pessoas já não conseguem mais viver sem o celular ou a internet. O mundo parece girar em torno das tecnologias, sejam elas recentes ou um pouco mais ultrapassadas, mas há de se convir que hoje em dia todos se rendem a ela. O que se pode comprovar de fato é uma integração e conectividade do mundo ao redor de alguma forma de tecnologia. Porem devo perguntar se esta seria realmente uma era da tecnologia da informação ou apenas estaríamos influenciados por uma onda mundial em busca de aperfeiçoamento tecnológico?

Alguns estudiosos recentes acreditam que sim, a tecnologia esta a favor da informação. Quando o saudoso Steve Jobs criou o computador que revolucionaria o mundo hoje, o Macintosh, em uma garagem escura, pequena e talvez mal cheirosa, ele estaria ali criando uma forma mais rápida e fácil de adquirir conhecimento e pratica-los de forma adequada. Um pequeno exemplo de como essa ‘maquinas’ podem ajudar na pratica do conhecimento seria o recurso de edição de vídeo. Este que alias desde o lançamento dos Macintosh vem se desenvolvendo e aperfeiçoando consideravelmente. Através desse recurso podemos editar vídeos gravados amadoramente ou não, de uma forma muito criadora, inovadora, e divertida.

Profissionais da era digital em que vivemos hoje agradecem por muitos desses avanços tecnológicos. Graças a um Macintosh profissionais da área de comunicação e mídia podem criar, inovar, renovar e se reinventar para atender as demandas de um cliente e participar de uma concorrência cada vez mais acirrada. Da mesma forma do que esses super computadores, Steve Jobs e a Apple criaram o iPhone, permitindo comunicação interpessoal de forma inteligente. Com tal tecnologia portável em mãos, somos capazes de não só conectar-se a internet e suas redes sociais, como também adquirir mais informação e conhecimento acessando jornais e outros aplicativos do gênero ou ate melhores. Através deles também se é possível aprender línguas e termos estranhos usando enciclopédias, dicionários e outros aplicativos do tipo.

Por outro lado, algumas pessoas acreditam que nossa era atual não passa de uma competição por aqueles que tem a tecnologia mais moderna e avançada. Um exemplo claro se da no recente lançamento do iPhone 4s, que em apenas duas semanas da data de lançamentos, já faz filas imensas de espera na lojas para adquirir o produto. Será isso um sinal de que talvez estejamos indo longe de mais e nos perdendo na interatividade? Talvez seja verdade, mas acredito que isso seja um mito criado pela própria sociedade digitalmente conectada.

Tudo bem que podemos ver a tecnologia como uma forma de diversão e distração, quando também podemos baixar aplicativos de jogos nos nossos iPhones ou smartphones, assim como também baixar musicas para nossa biblioteca virtual. Mas acredito que isso seria apenas uma forma de entretenimento, do que de alienação do mundo por causa da tecnologia. Devemos considerar porem que determinadas pessoas fazem mal uso dessa diversificação e integração tecnológica, mas isso seria apenas uma minoria.

A verdade que devemos considerar é que todos gostamos de se manter conectado ao mundo global da tecnologia digital. As mídias digitais mencionadas na postagem anterior, são só mais um exemplo de uso da tecnologia que temos em nossas casas ou telefones moveis. Não devemos ver isso pelo lado negativo, pelo contrario, devemos buscar sempre nos inovar sim, nos conectar com o que há de mais novo em termos de tecnologia da informação e integração digital. Se bem usado, podemos tirar o maior proveito do que temos em mãos. Temos que admitir que os tempos mudaram, o mundo transpira hoje softwares e hardwares. Não que nossas mentes tenham virado uma torre de controle ou CPU, mas temos que nos manter atualizados e desenvolvidos. Os tempos são outros, temos que nos mover com o mundo, como mencionei no texto sobre inovação.

Para concluir, devo realmente reforçar a ideia de que vivemos na era da informação digital e tecnológica. Não podemos ser hipócritas e nos mantermos no passado da TV em preto e branco ou do radio escangalhado e imenso que ocupava espaço na mesinha de canto. Temos que buscar o conhecimento aplicado a tecnologia e a informação. Devemos fazer como na primeira imagem de cima para baixo, plugar nossos cabos mentais a rede mundial da informação renovada, para poder então se reinventar, recriar, ser inteligentes e pensar em como melhorar um universo desunido e desconectado em busca de guerras com necessidades desconhecidas.

Social Networks in the reach of the universe

After my explanation around the video “where Good Ideas come from?” by Steve Johnson, I think I should develop some of the ideas exposed there. Firstly, I would like to comment on an interesting video entitled “Social Media Revolution 2”.

The definition of Social Media or the so called Social Network, can be summed as the joint of media reunited in the same place, the Internet, taking information or quick communication forms to people’s home. To cite some of these Social Networks we can mention here YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, MySpace, linked in and many more.

In order to fully understand the central and opening question of this video: “Is Social Media a fad or the biggest shift since the Industrial Revolution?” we shall go back to the past a little bit and see how the world has changed since the Industrial Revolution. Starting with a great technological breakthrough, new machines were brought into the factories; the human labour was gradually being substituted, although it cannot be totally ignored. In the end, the handyman became faster and dynamic, much easily doable. In the same way, life, especially in larger cities, were becoming faster too, with people rushing to get better jobs and better quality of life. Protests and strikes became the words of the era, turning into a real social and personal evolution. There was a really shift in time being announced.

Alongside all of those revolutions of that time (wages, employability and Industrial) came the technical revolution and the machines revolution. The creation of the telephone and the television beneficiated those tuned to radio. Colour television not only changed the visual perception, but also the perspectives of where are we going? Some years later was the time for the emergence of mobile phones, large bricks which we had to take with us wherever we went because some voice could ring us at the other side of the crosstalk of history. After that we were surprised how smaller and smaller mobile phones were becoming and nearly died of fright when we discovered that that small things could do better than only make and receive phone calls. They could connect to the Internet.

Whilst time passed by, that connectivity with the net led to world connectivity. The Internet emerged powerful, making waves of information and activity in real time, a new era of technology and digital information took over the world. It is really impressive to know that “96% of millennials have joined a social network”. But more impressive than that is realise that now not only young people have joined the ‘fad’, but older generations are embarking in it too. Impressive how this new wave of quick and efficient communication reaches number one in the ranking, beating the unbeatable Google, the pretended source of “information”. Even couples can now be joined and married with the seal and blessing of a Social Networking sites, which does not only occur in the US but all over the world I believe.

All of that traditional media that in the past meant everything, as I mentioned earlier on this text: Radio, Television and Even the Internet does not seems to attract today as much viewers and users as the 50 million not even dreamed of in a not long past. It is shocking for me to know that “if Facebook were meant to be a country it would be the world’s third largest.” It makes me think about where are our fingers and computers or laptops taking us? Would they be really taking us to catch up the electronic ‘fad’? I sincerely believe that yes, they are. However, I would like to make it clear that I do not believe it at the negative side, I see positively. A great positive example of it is in the video itself, when we see nowadays recruitment companies using a social network website like Linked in as a way to evaluate better their candidates. I acknowledge that I cannot be hypocritical and do not recognize the downside, when our day to day gossip can lead us to drastic measures to snoop famous people’s lives in twitter (which can be seen as curiosity).

Continuing with my positive view, I truly believe in this idea of universities stopping distributing email accounts for their students, distributing eReaders, iPods and tablets instead: it is genius. It is proving what I said in the previous post about innovation, creativity and connectivity. It is much more interesting to pursue an actual and interactive source of information and knowledge, rather than something old and out fashioned as emails are today. A proof of how this works well is exactly the capacity of being connected with the world on the palm of your hands. It allows you to connect socially and acquire knowledge from different parts of the world and different sources such as the encyclopaedia of Wikipedia. The trust mentioned is also a positive fact because when we trust in the current ‘fad’ we follow, we have more chance to obtain success through it.

To sum up, I can say that other than what is said in the video, social media are a real fad. A fad like any other we can think of and that we know is going to go and return one day. When I say go, I am not saying that they go forever; they will go to make space for new options. It goes to be perfected and become social networks much more attractive and functional. To not forget the second part of the initial question, we can relate that faddism with industrial revolution. I do not know if I could dare to say the biggest shift, but perhaps equal to this fad, because with the industrial revolution, life in the actual factories were made much more automated and connected in a net of better working and life conditions.

Redes Socias ao alcanco do universo

Ola pessoal, como vai voces? Aqui esta mais um video com explanacao minha interessantisimo. Espero que gostem e deem suas opinioes ai em baixo nos comentarios por favor!

Após minha explanação sobre o vídeo “De onde vem as boas ideias?”, de Steve Johnson, acho que devo desenvolver algumas ideias abertas lá. Em primeiro lugar gostaria de comentar um interessantíssimo vídeo intitulado “A Revolução das Mídias Sociais”.

Mídia social, ou também chamada rede social, pode ser resumido como um conjunto de mídias que reunidas em um mesmo local, a Internet, levam informação ou comunicação de forma rápida a casa das pessoas. Para citar apenas algumas dessas redes podemos aqui falar em Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Myspace, Linked in e muitas outras.

Para compreender a questão central e inicial desse vídeo: “Mídia social ė uma moda ou a maior mudança desde a revolução industrial?”, deveremos voltar um pouco ao passado e ver como o mundo evoluiu desde a revolução industrial. Começando por um grande avanço tecnológico maquinas novas foram trazidas para a indústria, a mão de obra humana foi gradativamente sendo substituída, apesar de não poder ser totalmente ignorada. Enfim, o trabalho braçal ficou mais rápido e dinâmico. Da mesma forma, a vida, especialmente nas grandes cidades, foi ficando também mais agitada, pessoas corriam em busca de melhores empregos e condições de vida. Protestos e greves se tornaram o mote dos tempos, foi uma verdadeira revolução social e pessoal. Foi realmente a mudança dos tempos que já estava sendo anunciada.

Conjuntamente com toda essa revolução salarial, empregatícia e industrial, veio a revolução tecnológica, a revolução das maquinas. A criação do telefone e televisão beneficiaram os já não mais aficionados do radio. A televisão em cores mudou não só a perspectiva da visão, mas como também a perspectiva do para onde estamos indo? Alguns anos mais tarde veio o celular, grandes tijolos que tínhamos que carregar para onde íamos pois uma voz podia a qualquer momento nos solicitar do outro lado de uma linha cruzada de historia. Depois disso nos surpreendemos como os telefones celulares forem ficando cada vez menores e menores e quase morremos de susto quando descobrimos que eles, os inimagináveis tijolos de antes, agora podiam fazer mais do que apenas receber e fazer ligações, podiam se conectar com a rede.

Conforme o tempo passou essa conectividade com a rede evoluiu para uma conectividade do mundo com a rede. A internet surgiu com forca total levando ondas de informação e atividade em tempo real, uma nova era da tecnologia e informação digital tomou conta do mundo. É realmente impressionante sabermos que “96% dos millennials participam de alguma rede social”. Mais impressionante ainda é se dar conta de que agora não somente os jovens aderem a nova ‘moda’, mas os mais velhos também acessam redes sociais. Impressionante como esta nova onda de comunicação rápida e eficaz atinge o numero um, batendo ate Google, a fonte da tal ‘informação’. Ate casais agora podem ser formados e casados com a chancela e benção das redes sociais, o que ocorre não só nos estados unidos mas acredito que no mundo todo.

Toda aquela tecnologia que no passado era tudo, como mencionei antes: o Radio, a TV e a ate a Internet parecem não atrair hoje tantos usuários quanto os 50 milhões nem sonhados num passado não muito distante. É chocante para mim saber que se o Facebook fosse um pais seria o terceiro maior. Isso me faz pensar para onde nossos dedos e nossos computadores ou laptops estão nos levando? Estariam eles realmente nos levando a acompanhar a ‘moda’ eletrônica? Eu sinceramente acredito que sim. Porem quero deixar claro que não acredito nisso pelo lado negativo da coisa, vejo positivamente. Um grande exemplo positivo disso e dado neste vídeo, quando vemos hoje empresas de recrutamento utilizando uma rede social: o Linked in, como uma forma de avaliar melhor seus candidatos. Tenho conhecimento que não posso ser hipócrita e não reconhecer o lado ruim, quando a fofoca nossa do dia a dia pode nos levar a medidas drásticas para bisbilhotar a vida de famosos no twitter (o que pode também ser visto como curiosidade).

Continuando com minha visão positiva, acredito cegamente nessa ideia de universidades não mais distribuírem contas de e-mail para seus alunos. A ideia da entrega de eReaders, iPads e Tablets em substituição dos já obsoletos e-mails é simplesmente genial. Isso apenas prova o que disse na postagem anterior sobre inovação, criatividade e conectividade. É muito mais interessante temos uma fonte mais atual e interativa de informação e conhecimento, do que algo mais antigo ou ultrapassado. Uma prova de como isso funciona é exatamente a capacidade de você estar conectado com o mundo na palma da mão, podendo socialmente se conectar e obter conhecimento de diversas partes do mundo e de diversas fontes como a biblioteca virtual do Wikipédia. A confiabilidade mencionada, também e um fator positivo, pois quando confiamos na moda atual que seguimos temos mais chance de obter sucesso através dela.

Para concluir posso dizer que ao contrario do que é tentado se colocar no vídeo, mídias sociais são uma moda sim. Uma moda como qualquer outra, as quais sabemos que atualmente vão e voltam. Quando digo vão, não significa ir embora, vão apenas dar lugar a novas opções, a aperfeiçoamentos que tornarão as redes sócias muito mais atrativas e funcionais. E não esquecendo da segunda parte da pergunta inicial, podemos sim relacionar esse modismo com a revolução industrial. Não sei se ousaria dizer maior, mas talvez igual, pois graças a revolução industrial a vida nas fabricas de hoje em dia estão muito mais automatizadas e conectadas numa rede de melhores condições de trabalho e vida. New ideas connected

Based on the Video posted above I would like to express here some of my thoughts about the subjects creativity and the Internet.

There is already sometime that I have been thinking how creativity has contributed to the connected world we are living in today. The Internet created as a simple means of communication and data transfer has increasingly been turned into something much more powerful than that. Nowadays, through the Internet it is possible not only to acquire some arguable ‘Knowledge’, but also to communicate and exchange some ideas, experiences and some self or acquired knowledge. On the other hand, more than all of this, the Internet is also used as a tool for creation: would this be true?

According to the video good ideas take sometimes to evolve, what can be years of thinking with no idea. In the same way that this called ‘slow hunch’, the Internet began and gradually developed until the moment we are today, attracting massive audiences. It is acceptable that Tim Berners Lee could not necessarily be a genius, but the Internet was certainly a good idea, taking the fact that because of it we can get precious information quickly, not to mention that it reaches everybody. The idea of the ‘Incubation’ time mentioned by Steve Johnson in the video, generating one hunch that collides with another hunch, nowadays seems to instead of colliding and creating a breakthrough is going in another direction, or simply scrambling to the ground.

The reason for this could be explained by the fact that instead of leading to a bigger centre of good ideas, the Internet seems to have turned into something common, with no much creativity, ascending to a level of boredom and span in the form of emails, scraps, twits, messages, etc. What impresses is the lack of creativity of certain people that only copy and past a recognised text, being then considered as plagiarists. Or even more than that share information that will not change the life of anyone, such as twitting “I have just came back from university” or “I am going to work”. Let’s be reasonable and fair agreeing that the Internet should be used in a better when than this.

It is in this moment when Steve comments on Innovation, pointing the question in which I would like to refer to: “What the Internet is doing to our brains?” When answering this question I shall consider the term innovation as renovation, where ideas originally generated in the Internet can be taken in a creative way. What I mean by this is: do not copy and paste, do not frame our routines, do not limit yourself to a quick chat. I wish that we can reinvent, renew and only in that way innovate. The interchange of knowledge in this moment is fundamental. The positive use of the Internet to post acquired and digested knowledge, not allowing the temptation to copy, what can minimize our creative brains.

An example of how this could be done relies in our personal intention. When we write a blog or twit something, we should think in how we can innovate, think in what sort of different and attractive things we can write about. Publish intelligent videos about an idea we had, or about something we have just learnt, like what the actual vlogs are doing today, is a good example of a change of mentality and attitude. I believe in the same way as showed in the video above, we should move with the world and leave behind the era of the books or even radio, the only sources of getting knowledge in the past. We should follow our current connected world and keep ourselves connected in a way to generate new ideas, making use of the actual available media, such as the Internet in this case analysed here.

In conclusion, I should say that there is no need to be a genius like Albert Einstein was one day, but it is needed to be connected and innovative. The capacity to reinvent ourselves relies within us. What we should not allow is to become alienated and distracted with our daily routine as mentioned in the video. It is urged to always think in how to innovate, renew and reinvent a present, move from the past to be able to build an innovative and intelligent future. A connected future in the present, being always tuned in a surrounding of great newness, and only then collide our hunch with another hunch to form great good ideas.

Novas ideias conectadas

Ola a todos, e bem vindos ao meu novo blog, com novos posts e uma nova ideia a partir de agora e por falar em novas ideias, aqui segue um video e uma reflexao pessoal sobre ele. Espero que gostem e postem seus comentarios.



Com base neste vídeo postado ai em cima queria expressar aqui alguns de meus pensamentos sobre o tema criatividade e a internet.

Durante algum tempo venho pensando em como a criatividade contribui no mundo conectado em que vivemos hoje. A internet criada como um simples meio de comunicação e transferência de dados vem se transformando em algo muito mais potente do que isso. Hoje em dia se é possível através dela, não só adquirir um questionável ‘conhecimento’, mas também se comunicar e trocar experiências, ideias e algum conhecimento próprio ou adquirido. Porem mas do que isso, é usado também como uma ferramenta de criação, mas será mesmo?

De acordo com o vídeo ai de cima, grandes ideias levam algum tempo para acontecerem, as vezes podem ate passar anos sem surgir na mente. Da mesma forma do que esse intitulado “palpite lento”, a internet surgiu e se desenvolveu, como quem não quer nada, lentamente, mas conquistando gradualmente grandes multidões. Esta certo que Tim Berners Lee podia não necessariamente ser considerado um gênio, mas esta foi uma grande ideia, pois graças a ela hoje podemos conseguir informações preciosas rapidamente, sem falar no fato de ser algo ao alcance de todos. O tal tempo de incubação mencionado por Steve Johnson no vídeo, o que gera um palpite que colide com outro parecem que, hoje em dia, ao invés de se juntarem e criarem um grande palpite melhor ainda dos que os individuais se esvai por terra.

A razão para isso se explica no fato de que ao invés de levar a um grande centro de grandes ideias, a Internet parece ter virado algo comum, sem muita criatividade, se elevando mais a um patamar de tedio e lixo eletrônico em forma de carta, ou e-mails, scraps, Twits, mensagens, etc. Impressiona a falta de criatividade de certos indivíduos que ao expor conteúdo online apenas copiam e colam textos reconhecidos, se tornado plágios, ou apenas compartilham informações que não mudarão a vida de ninguém, como por exemplo um twit dizendo que acaba de volta da faculdade ou trabalho. Espera ai, vamos combinar que a internet deveria ser usada de melhor forma do que simplesmente isso.

E nesse momento que Steve Johnson comenta sobre Inovação, onde então segundo ele, entra a pergunta a que quero me referir: “O que a Internet esta fazendo com as nossas mentes?”. Ao responder a essa pergunta considero o termo inovação como renovação, onde ideias atualmente geradas na internet possam ser reaproveitadas de maneira criativa. O que quero dizer é: não copiemos e colemos, não retratemos apenas nossas rotinas, não nos limitemos a apenas uma rápida conversa, que nós possamos nos reinventar, renovar e desta maneira então inovar. A troca de conhecimento neste momento é fundamental, o uso positivo da internet para a postagem de conhecimento adquirido e digerido por nos mesmos, não permitindo que a tentação da copia minimize nossas mentes criativas.

Um exemplo de como isso pode ser feito esta na intenção pessoal, quando escrevemos um blog ou tuitamos algo, deveremos pensar em como podemos inovar, em que coisas diferentes e atrativas que podemos escrever sobre. Publicar vídeos inteligentes sobre alguma ideia, ou algo que aprendemos, como fazem os famosos video logs ou vlogs atuais, que estão surgindo online, são um bom exemplo de mudança de mentalidade e atitude. Acredito que seja como o mostrado nesse vídeo acima, deveremos nos mover com o mundo e sair da era do Livro, ou ate mesmo o Radio, únicas formas de adquirir conhecimento antigamente. Deveremos acompanhar o nosso atual mundo conectado e nos mantermos sempre conectados como uma forma de gerar novas ideias, usando nossas mídias atualmente disponíveis, como a Internet no caso aqui citado.

Para concluir, devo dizer que não e preciso ser nenhum gênio como Albert Einstein um dia foi, mas é preciso ser conectado e inovador. A capacidade de nos reinventarmos esta dentro de cada um de nos, o que não podemos é se deixar levar e ficarmos alheios e distraídos, como mencionado no vídeo, na nossa vida quotidiana. E preciso sempre se pensar em uma forma de inovar, renovar, reinventar um presente, se mover do passado para poder construir um futuro inovador e inteligente. Um futuro conectado no presente, sempre ligado ao nosso redor de grandes novidades, e então juntar nossas pequenas ideias, com outras pequenas ideias e gerar grandes novas ideias.

'Who moved my cheese' Review

Hey folks,
After some time without publishing anything in english, I would like to share a refview I have made myself about a book that I recently finished reading. Hope you enjoy and comment:

I would really recommend the book ‘Who moved my cheese’ from Dr. Spencer Johnson. It is an interesting story of four imaginary characters composed by two mice: Sniff and Scurry, and two little people: Hem and Haw. The story is all about the journey of those four players into the maze, seeking for the best cheese. It is also brilliantly involved by a discussion between old classmates who are brought together again after a long time.

The most amazing fact about this book is the real world message you can get from it. By following the characters through the narrative, told by one of the old classmates, it is possible to absorb very interesting thoughts and attitudes that can influence society, either in personal relationships or in professional relationships. I would say that this book is a guide for all of us, regular citizens, who seek for personal improvement, allowing an understanding of our individual role inside the tough world.

The final discussion that leads to the end of the book is carefully narrated in order to highlight the important messages got from the story, and how each of the mates see themselves in each character. Consequently, the discussion invite the readers to think about themselves and make the change, move with the cheese. ‘Who moved my cheese’ is a great book for everybody, with no exclusions, a good reading for any time. In addition it is also possible to reread it after some time, leading you to think from another perspective and always make that change.

Rio 3D critica

Ola a todos,

neste ultimo sabado assiti o filme Rio em 3D e decidi entao postar aqui uma critica minha sobre ele.
Para comecar, gostaria de parabenizar e agradecer ao diretor Carlos Saldanha pela qualidade da obra. Com uma visao detalhada dos personagens, colocando-os como pessoas e nao como bonecos, deu a credibilidade necessaria ao filme, sem falar na trilha sonora. Devo destacar aqui a trilha inicial do filme take you to rio com a participacao de Carlinhos brown que da a real atmosfera da cidade e sua maravilhas.
o fato de eu ter assistido em 3D faz o filme ficar ainda mais divertido, trazendo vivo diante de seus olhos todos os detalhes das aves e todos os outros personagens representados. Realmente recomendo irem ao cinema e assitirem a Rio em 3D, eh realmente um programa imperdivel para o fim de semana.

Para quem assistiu e quer comentar tambem, sinta-se a vontade e comente ai em baixo.

Rio3D review

Hey everyone,

Saturday I saw Rio 3D and decided to post here a review about this movie, once it is talking about my hometown.
To make a starting point, I would like to thank you and congratulate the director: Carlos Saldanha. Thanks for allowing us the pleasure to see a movie pretended for kids, but that is really catchy for adults as well. I think everything is good about this film: the visual images are perfect, it reproduces in detail Rio's landscape. The characters are perfectly detailed, since their movement to their face, making us believe that they are human beings, not dolls. The soundtrack is amazing, specially the track take you to Rio, and the samba atmosphere is also incredible with the reproduction of the parade and everything. The fact that I saw it in 3D is very special, because you get to see everything alive in front of you, like you are in Rio, which made me miss home. Finally I would like to congratulate everybody involved in this film production, not only the brazilians, but everyone who put their good effort to make this amazing film, very well done! I am really looking forward to see it again.

Tropa de Elite 2

Ola pessoas,

Hoje assisti tropa de elite 2 pela internet e como carioca da gema, faco questao de tecer meus comentarios sobre o filme.

Primeiramente, queria dizer que apos assistir o tropa 1 esperava mais do segundo filme da serie, porem gostei pelo fato de esse filme ter atingido um grau mais critico em seu papel de alertar e criticar o tal falado 'sistema'. O caso das milicias no Rio de Janeiro eh algo nao tao novo, que esta agora sendo combatido, mas a verdade eh que nunca vai deixar de existir uma vez que o ciclo eh subsidiado e apoiado por certas forcas de influencia.

O importante em perceber no filme eh o fato de que ele pode ter ajudado a esclarecer muitas pessoas que vivem em favelas no Rio e mesmo aquelas que vivem em bairros arredores, que por nao saber acaba por financiar o sistema. Espero que o filme possa contribuir para mudar ainda mais para melhor a questao da seguranca publica no Rio, nao soh pacificando favelas mas tambem realizando rondas em bairros criticos e colocando na cadeia os verdadeiros criminosos.

Rio 2016

After more than 10 years trying, this is the first time that enormous events like the Olympics takes place in South America. The city of Rio de Janeiro, and the Rio population, is very proud to host the Olympics and Paralympics 2016. According to Rio2016 organization, there will be around 100, 000 people organizing the event, including 70,000 volunteers. Therefore, an enormous amount of money being invested on it in order to create the best atmosphere for the game. By 2016, there will be built new sports complex, like stadiums, and there will be five zones within the city dedicated for the games. The government is expecting more than 205 nations to be involved either in organizing or performing. Another issue that has been resolved very well is safety. A lot of efforts are being made to make sure that all kinds of threats are vanished from this wonderful event, which is considered to be the legacy for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Rio de Janeiro – Brazil

The city of Rio de Janeiro, part of the state with the same name, has 6.093.472 inhabitants according to the count of the Brazilian institute of geography and economy (IBGE) from 2007. Inside Rio we also have other important cities “like Campos and Macao (main producers of petroleum in Brazil), Petropolis (Historic city), Buzios and Angra dos Reis (touristic coastal cities), etc. People from the State of Rio are called fluminenses; people from the city of Rio are called cariocas.” (To know more visit: www.v-brazil.com.br). The first name given to the city by the Portuguese Manoel Tome de Souza was city of Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro, changed later for State of Guanabara, in 1960 when the capital of Brazil was moved from Rio to Brasilia (the capital was moved to Brasilia because of its centrality).

The geography of Rio de Janeiro is formed by the combination of sea and mountains. “Most of Rio lies on a geological structure called Brazilian Crystal Basement; the rocks, gnaisses and granites which make up the basement are the oldest of Brazilian territory.” (www.v-brazil.com). the land had many tectonic alterations, which developed into hills, valleys and mountains shaping some touristic landmarks as the sugar loaf and all the coast of Rio. “The State can be divided in three morphologic frames: the coastal low lands (referred to as Baixada Fluminense), the coastal elevations and the highlands.” (www.v-brazil.com). Coastal elevation can be seen in a region called “regiao dos lagos”, what can be translated as the lake region of Rio considering Guanabara bay (there are three bays in total: Guanabara, sepetiba and ilha Grande). The highlands are a result of eruptions in the area composing the grater part in the formation of Rio geography.

Entertainment in Rio

You will never become bored in Rio, there is always something exciting to do. On the weekends the most popular destination is the beach; Rio is circulated by the most beautiful beaches in the world. There is the famous Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach, Barra da Tijuca Beach, and many more, you just have to explore. If you are tired of Beaches, you have the option to go and have a lunch in one of our beautiful restaurants by the sea and taste a real sea food. At night you can go to Leblon or even in Copacabana to one of the many areas like Baixo leblon, where the complex of bars is amazing and you can sit down and have a beer, caipirinha, or if you prefer a natural fresh juice. However, if you prefer clubbing, the night club 00 in Gavea is the best option.

If you like to dance, there are innumerous places where you can go and experience the Samba beat. If it is carnival, do not miss out the opportunity to visit the Sambodrome and watch the parades for the whole night. There is a number of Samba schools in Rio, where you can also go before the carnival time arrives to enjoy the environment and dance with the beat, some of them are: Beija-flor, mangueira, vila isabel, Grande rio and many more.
